Mummmh... wanted to draw something gloomy for the first page of the 3rd chapter of Heredity (well, gloomy it is, ne ^^; ?)
The chapter introduces the whole bunch of kids (Tarik, Sethee, Karey, Roby & another one I don't want to tell about for the moment ;p ) but Karey is the main character, so I chose him for the picture.
I wanted to give the effect of a pool of blood turning into a wing, sort of... */me weirdo* :dead:

Original sketch size : 10x10 cm (added the wing on toshop)
Photoshop 90% OpenCanvas 10%

EDIT : many people told me the background looked "like a photoshop filter" (damn XD !) I tried to make it look a bit more natural, reduced the color, add a bit of texture, and some other things I forgot. Hope it looks nicer now.

gnaime pas trop la façon dont t'as fait le halo tout autour, et puis chui pas très fan de ce genre d'illus, mais c'est très bien fait :p

Franchement le personnage est superbe, et c'est vrai que l'aile est vraiment réussie. Le décor commence bien, mais on croirait que le halo a été fait avec un effet de filtre photoshop, et si c'est le cas ce n'est pas franchement une bonne idée. Si ce n'est pas le cas, ce qui fait un peu bizarre c'est ce bleu dans le dégradé...
