Illusion

This is the pic I submitted for the photo contest at Ldoll 2012. The theme was "Illusion" and only minor photoshop edits were allowed on the pic (I didn't edit mine at all, except for a little recrop).

I wanted to show how the photographer could create the illusion of reality with the right setting, the right posing, the right lighting, the right cropping... while reminding the viewers that what they were looking at was actually just a picture of a lifeless doll in some home-made background.

It's quite a simple setting, but I had to take zillions of shots before finally getting one where I held the wooden frame at the right distance and the right angle ; it was a highly frustrating hit-or-miss process, as my camera offers no preview and I had to move away from it to hold the frame far enough... also the more I failed the more difficult it became, because at one point my arm began to shake haha =_=;
