I'm not sure this is really a good idea but I opened
an account on MangaRevolutionThe website is rather userfriendly, and there's some nice stuff around.
What I like the most is the tutorial part. Easy to find and to browse. Two points for MR.
The layout is not GREEN and there are no ads everywhere and you don't have to pay to feel confortable and the profile section is nice. Three points for MR.
MR wants to be a little more elistist than DA, which is not a bad idea in the first place, but the consequence is that popularity contest spirit over there seems to be even crazier than DA's, with the style points and favs and watchs and friends and page hits and page views and levels and senior votes etc. Crazy, I tell you. I don't think the whole "junior"/"senior" categories as they are make any sense, too. Two points for DA.
But at least you can appear on the front page for more than 0,00000001 second ! Whoa. One point for MR, until it becomes as crowded as DA.
And there's an important thing that irks me on MR : I just hate the fact that the drawings bigger than 400x400 are poorly resized on every pages. Isn't it stupid, for an art site, not to have a proper way to display, well, ART ? And it's a pain in the ...eerr, art, to have to make your thumbnails yourself, too.
Ten points for DA.
In the end I still prefer DA, but MR is quite a nice place too, if you like the style and want to see only drawings.
